Hello and welcome to my new website
I have been a full time artist since December 2001 and I love what I do and am very grateful for how life treats me! I really am the luckiest Artist in the world!I would describe my work as simple as this is what I enjoy the most in my life.
A lot of my work subjects are colour, people and numbers as I enjoy the psychology of these structures.
My inspiration comes from my soul and my connection with the world and it's energy.
I am through and through a contemporary painter as I love to experiment and paint through my intuition. Therefore I work through my subconscious rather than my conscious and have a very strong faith with God in a spiritual way.

Saturday Art Group
Every 2nd Saturday Denita will host a painting group for all types of creative people who need the space and time to get creative. These mornings are open to all ages able to work without supervision.Days: 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month
Time: 10am – 12 noon
Cost: $10 Casual or $18 for you and a friend morning tea will be supplied
Bring your own materials and get those projects started or even finished

Children's Holiday Art Workshops
Through the holidays I run fun filled art activities for children aged 8-12 years old in my art studio. It is for children who love to get creative in a fun environment.Days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.
Time: 10am till 1pm.
Cost: $20 per day or $50 for 3 days, only 6 spaces per session so give me a call on (06) 345 5216 to book fun times for your children!
They will need a packed lunch and be dressed in painting clothes.

A walk around my art on display in our home
I have finally got around to editing the walk around my home over the open studio weekend...
We have a new member added to our family - Achilles
My beautiful sister gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Saturday 12.04.2008 in Wanganui hospital at 8:43pm.He has been named Achilles Nepia Te Wiira Paikea after his Popa and middle names from the family. He is a healthily young man and was born weighing 8lb 10oz.
I was lucky to have been at his water birth which Vanessa makes giving birth look easy!
I have posted photos to my blog and will post more though the week.
My Fish have been NAMED!
Thanks to everyone that suggested names for my fish.After many hours of watching the the fish I have decided to use 'Bubbles' for the white and gold thanks to Finn Coleman's suggestion, 'Marco' for the black googley eye fish thanks to the Hot Tardz suggestion and 'Bruce' for the big black and gold fish thanks to Kathleen.
They are very happy in their environment and I just want to say a big thanks to Mum for buying them for me x x x.
My studio was open for the open studio event 29, 30 March & 5, 6 April 2008
Denita Tizard M.A.dI converted our home, an old nightclub, into a living art gallery and studio for the open studio event.
It was a great success and I am looking forward to the event next year.
